AEG (Automatic Electric Gun) magazines work by holding and feeding BBs into the airsoft gun using a spring mechanism or, in the case of high-capacity magazines, a winding gear. When the gun cycles, a small lever inside the magazine pushes a BB up into the hop-up chamber to be fired. High-capacity magazines require manual winding to keep feeding BBs, while mid- and low-capacity magazines rely solely on spring pressure.
