Adjusting the hop-up on an airsoft gun primarily affects the backspin and trajectory of the BB, not the FPS (feet per second). However, in some cases, increasing hop-up can create a slight increase in air resistance, which may cause a minimal drop in FPS, but the change is usually very small.
