Airsoft silencers, also known as suppressors, do not function like real firearm suppressors because airsoft guns do not produce loud gunpowder explosions. However, they can slightly reduce the noise of the escaping air or gas and often help to muffle the sound of the BB exiting the barrel, but the difference is usually minimal. Most airsoft silencers are used mainly for aesthetics rather than significant sound reduction.
