A mid-cap mag (mid-capacity magazine) typically holds between 100 and 150 BBs and does not require winding, feeding BBs with an internal spring. A high-cap mag (high-capacity magazine) usually holds 300 or more BBs and requires winding a wheel to feed the BBs. The main differences are capacity and the mechanism used to feed the BBs.
