Most HPA Systems are compatible with their specific type. For example a V2 is compatible with most M4 platforms. A V3 is compatible with most AK platforms.
For the most part if you stick with mid to high end brands such as G&G, Cyma, G&P, etc, the HPA units will install into them. The main thing you will need to tackle is alignment of the hpa unit. If it is not aligned properly, you can run into issues.
